What The Forecast?!! iOS Privacy Policy

What The Forecast?!! does not collect or store personally identifying information. When you first install and launch the app, you will be asked to allow What The Forecast?!! to access your location. Clicking the “Allow While Using App”, “Allow Once”, or “Allow” buttons enables the app to send your latitude and longitude coordinates to the AerisWeather servers each time a weather request is made for your current location. Once your location is transmitted, the current forecast for that location will be downloaded automatically to your device. In addition, your latitude and longitude is used by the Apple MapKit API to find the name of the city and state to which those coordinates pertain. None of the information sent to the AerisWeather servers or the MapKit API is personally identifiable.
What The Forecast?!! uses AppLovin and its supported partners to display ads. The ads use the advertising identifier, combined with the device location to display interest based ads to users. The information transmitted to the ad servers includes: launch timestamps, interactions, view times, click behavior, and crash logs. The ads may additionally transmit device information that includes: device make, device model, and carrier information (where available). You device IP address may be used to estimate the general location of the device. The information is anonymous and cannot be used to identify What The Forecast?!! users.
What The Forecast?!! conforms to the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). If you live in the European Union (EU), you will be presented with an automatic in-app option to opt out of interest based ads.
If you live outside of the European Union (EU) and would like to opt out of interest based ads, you can do so in the Privacy section of the device Settings app. iOS provides a "Limit Ad Tracking" setting on iOS 13 and a “Personalized Ads” setting on iOS 14. When you have opted out of interest based ads using the settings on the device, AppLovin and its partners will not use in-app information collected from that device to infer your interests or serve ads to that device that are targeted based on your inferred interests. Please note that while opting out limits the collection of information to serve you ads based on your inferred interests, it does not prevent you from receiving ads from AppLovin or third parties. What The Forecast?!! uses Firebase Crashlytics to collect app crash and performance data. The information collected is tied to the advertising identifier and includes: crash logs, app launch time, hang rate, and energy use. This information is used to find and fix issues in the app. This data for this service is collected anonymously and cannot be used to personally identify users.
What The Forecast?!! uses Facebook Analytics to collect to collect statistics on app usage. The information collected is tied to the advertising identifier and includes: app installs, app launches, and in-app purchases and subscriptions. This information helps Night Cat Productions LLC see how the app is used and create Facebook ads to promote the app. The data for this service is collected anonymously and cannot be used to personally identify users.
